| Final Fling |
| “Final Fling” is one of the biggest events on the University of Stirling’s student calendar. Huge festival-like tents go up around the fields of Aithrey Castle and along with that an influx of fairground rides, caterers, tribute acts and DJ’s. It is without a doubt the best night the University has to offer.
Hog2Roast catered at “Final Fling” a few years back. The University of Stirling got in touch with Jamie and the team at Hog2Roast. They had a look through the wide range of Menu’s that they Hog Roast company offered but in the end asked them to come and do a simple “Pig in a Bun” menu for potentially 400 students. Hog2Roast arrived at the University of Stirling on the night at around 5pm to set up their Hog Roasting equipment; the hog roast machine, the hog, the rolls and all their own trestle tables. The hog was nearly cooked in the machine and looked delicious. Along with the rest of the party-goers I arrived at the University of Stirling at around half past seven and as I walked by the catering tents the one that looked and smelled the best was the Hog Roast. It was a huge hit with all the University of Stirling Students and I could tell by the huge queue of people waiting in line to get their Hog Roast roll. The Hog2Roast staff were extremely fun and enthusiastic, quite often sharing some good banter with the University of Stirling students whilst they were serving the Hog Roast into soft, fresh bread rolls. They topped off the succulent meat with Apply Sauce of Sweet Chilli Sauce – the Chilli was my favourite. There was also a bowl of crackling sitting on the buffet tables for us to eat. The crackling was ultra crispy and tasted delicious. I was certainly pleased when I heard that people were welcome to go back for extras. As I believe the Hog Roast stall was the busiest stall all night and there were no leftovers from all the food they provided. Since the night of Final Fling at the University of Stirling I have often seen their Hog Roast van drive through different areas of Stirling particularly up at the castle, where I assume they are catering for big weddings and corporate events; a sure sign that they are still as popular as they were that night. |
